Memory Portals

A little window into another life.

Memory Portals
Quiet Clock artwork from the deployed portal

THE IDEA

A little window into another life.

A small touchscreen object for staying close across a long distance. Photos, videos, messages, and a weather-aware artistic view of the backyard become something you can leave on a shelf instead of another feed to check.

Raspberry Pi · Python · Kiosk UI · Signed updates

01

More than a photo frame

Memory Book, a bilingual message archive, a quiet clock, and a rewindable view of the backyard share one calm interface.

02

The outside world becomes art

MIRA-94 turns source images and weather observations into artwork. The portal receives and caches selected results.

03

Built for life away from the workbench

Offline playback, Wi-Fi recovery, remote diagnostics, and signed software updates support a device already delivered to Japan.

WHERE IT STANDS

Where the work is today.

MP-Doghouse is the first deployed Memory Portal, running on a Raspberry Pi and seven-inch touchscreen. It is a personal hardware project, not a product currently for sale.

Shown here is the actual Quiet Clock artwork used by the project, not a photograph of the enclosure. Personal messages and photo libraries are not included.
